Modern friendly office atmosphere, well I guess that sounds better than dark and gloomy office where there’s never any soup for you. Digital low radiation x-rays and scanners so there isn’t any need for goopy impressions. 10 years ago that was newer technology and not every office would have some of these machines as they were quite expensive.
Flash forward to today, almost any orthodontic office you go to will have integrated this type of technology into their practices as it’s almost become standard of care. Complimentary Examinations within the orthodontic world are also fairly standard with most offices offering this service. I know, you know, we all know that orthodontic treatment can be expensive especially without dental coverage. Most offices will offer 0 percent financing and monthly payments to make starting treatment easier on you and your family. Just like with buying a car, lower monthly payments = longer payment terms. The catch is that sometimes payment terms is directly related to the estimated length of treatment in the eyes of many insurance companies. Multiple locations and multiple doctors. If you want the flexibility of going to different offices across the city and potentially seeing a different doctor at each visit then this may be something your interested in.
For the majority of people they will select a location that checks all the boxes off and likely return to the same office for the duration of their care. Unless you find the unicorn magician orthodontist (if you do can you let me know because I’d love to meet them) they can only be in 1 place at 1 time.
So if you like this said orthodontist and want to see this said orthodontist and they have multiple offices then you will have to catch this unicorn perhaps in different locations if you are not flexible in the days you have available.
As a solo practitioner your kinda stuck with me, but that said hopefully through the consultation process and the meet and greet that’s a good thing right? Being a Solo operator with a solo location means that if the office is open, that’s where you’ll find me.
So the million dollar question. How do I determine which office (please choose mine) to start my journey with. Hopefully you will have just learned that in MANY aspects orthodontic offices are essentially the same. So that being said, my opinion on what differentiates offices “comes down to the man or woman in the box” (If you haven’t seen TopGun Maverick you really need to do that first). It’s not the fancy machines, the over the top décor, the free bubbly water in the minifridges, the goody bag, or the pack of branded mints or lip gloss that should make your decision. Look past the noise. It’s the guy/gal that went to WAY to many years of school that you are trusting with coming up with a plan that you should be focused on.
So my suggestion to you is to choose an office that just feels right. It’s the office that the treatment plan presented just makes sense to you and when you leave you feel confident that you made the right choice. I hope that when you leave Design Orthodontics you have that comfortable, confident, not the I just walked out of a time share presentation feeling. But if not, that’s OK. We hope that you find that office that is the right fit for you.
